Fairytales do come true .. Following a messy, long and stressful divorce my son (aged 2) and I moved into a new house in a quiet town in October 2003. I was suffering with depression and felt at the end of my tether.
Then this happened.... 10 days after I had moved in, the empty house next door had a new occupier. He was tall, dark and very handsome (so bound to be taken )To be socialable I offered him a coffee and we chatted, then he left. From then on we would stop and chat when we saw each other. He too was a divorcee, going through a bad time as his children now lived over 600 miles away. In november 2003 he asked me out on a date, of which I agreed. From then on he swept me and my son off our feet.
Having been in a marriage full of lies, deceit and verbal abuse, then a battle through the divorce courts and narrowly avoiding bankruptcy, I would never have believed that I could ever experience true love like this man was showing me.
In May of this year this wonderful man and I married in the presence of both our children, and in true fairytale style we will live happily ever after.

As a man left to bring up two children on his own for 10 years, I really thought that the chance of finding that special someone who could fill the huge void that I had in my life would be impossible.
Two years ago, my 40th birthday in 2007 seemed so far away. I resigned myself that I would be spending it along with both children and a chocolate cake with 4 candles on it, the children singing happy birthday to me and then, when the children had gone to bed, singing it to myself again.... alone.

That was 18 months ago.... Julie has become the children's best friend overnight. She moved in with us in March 2006 and was bestowed the title 'Big Sister' by my daughter and 'Best Friend' by my son. My grin will not go away... I am truly the luckiest man alive. Julie is beautiful, generous, kind hearted, gentle, a wonderful home maker..... I think that when you feel sooooo different about someone, perhaphs they could be your soul mate. Well, I do have that feeling every day..... I have my soul mate with me and..... in October of 2006 I romantically proposed....and she accepted. We are getting married in December 2007 and I can't wait. Suddenly, the whole atmosphere in our home has changed.... the love that flies around our house is immense.
